National Cyber Security Awareness Month
This October is the 20th annual Cyber Security Awareness Month, bringing people together on how to stay safe while operating online.
Here are four simple steps you can take to ensure you stay safe online at home, work, and school.
- Use Strong Passwords- Strong passwords are long, random, and unique and include all four-character types (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols).
- Turn on MFA- You need more than a password to protect your online accounts. Enable multifactor authentication (MFA) to provide a platform for going passwordless.
- Recognize and Report Phishing- Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking for personal information. Avoid sharing sensitive information or credentials with unknown sources.
- Update Software- Making sure your software is up to date is the best way to make sure you have the latest security patches and updates on your devices.
