Fraudsters Are Getting Smarter — Don’t Let Them Trick You

8/4/2025

At Beacon Federal Credit Union, protecting your financial well-being is our top priority. As fraud schemes grow more sophisticated, staying alert and informed is more important than ever. One of the latest tactics scammers use involves pretending to help you, when they’re trying to steal your money.

Here’s what you need to know:

Scammers may contact you by phone, text, or email, claiming there’s fraud on your account. They might sound urgent and convincing, but their goal is to create panic and pressure you into sending or moving your money.

Please remember: We will never ask you to transfer or withdraw funds to resolve fraud.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts. Hang up. Delete the message. Then, contact us directly using the phone number on the back of your debit card or your monthly statement. We’re here to support you and help protect your accounts.

Common Scam Phrases to Watch For:

If you hear or see something like this, it’s a red flag:

Even caller ID, emails, and texts can be faked to look like they’re coming from Beacon Federal Credit Union. That’s why it’s always best to call us directly. We’ll confirm what’s real and help you take the proper steps.

Our mission is to look out for your safety. Let’s stay one step ahead of fraud, together.
