Financial Service Representative

Job Description

Assist Beacon Federal Credit Union members with financial needs including new accounts, credit union products & services, consumer loans, etc. Effectively resolves member problems and consistently practices various sales techniques regarding products & services designed to meet a member’s needs. Monday through Saturday availability required.

Requirements
  • Have an understanding of a credit report
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Provide alternative solutions for lending options
  • Effectively cross sell credit union products and services
  • Interact with members as required in order to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance
  • Responds to telephone messages and correspondence within one business day.
  • Provides and maintains member security & confidentiality and identify potential fraud
  • Assists external & internal members with resolving member service issues in timely & appropriate manner and assist Call Center Management with escalated member service or sales calls as needed.
  • Assesses internal and external members needs regarding financial transactions and services, while adhering to internal controls, security and safety procedures.

Mortgage Loan Processor

Job Description

The role of a Mortgage Loan Processor is to assist members and originators with their real estate loan applications and process, to ensure a superior member experience.

The Processor will be able to review residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets credit union standards.

Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare and submit detailed loan packages to the lender underwriting department for approval or denial,
  • Ensure loan files meet lending and regulatory guidelines and policies
  • Work with the borrower to obtain and verify necessary financial documentation.
  • Request verification of employment, evidence of insurance, payoffs, tax transcripts, credit supplements, subordination requests, appraisal survey, title work, and additional documents needed to assure a smooth loan process
  • Make sure closing dates and company deadlines are met by following up on loan documentation in a timely manner
  • When issues arise, communicate with underwriters and borrowers to make sure conditions are satisfied
  • Act as a liaison between applicants, loan officers, real estate agents, and mortgage lending underwriters to help further loan approval
  • Transfer closed loans to servicing system
Requirements:
  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Two to five years of credit union or related experience.
  • Knowledge of residential real estate lending, including home equity.
  • Must have a working knowledge of regulations affecting mortgage lending.
  • Thorough knowledge of loan processing, closing policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems.
  • Must pass a required background check to register with NMLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate well with a diverse group of people.
  • Must be tactful and courteous.
  • Knowledge of credit union and/or industry mortgage products.
  • Organizational and time management skills to balance workload and meet deadlines.
